Words from the Designer

CbyC Jewelry was born from an idea during a trip to Barcelona in 2009 when I, Cecilia, was inspired by a necklace I saw while exploring the city. Back in Sweden, I decided to create my own version. My first necklace, featuring a lacquered wooden bead and hand-threaded glass beads, sold out quickly in a friend’s shop. However, when the pieces started breaking, I realized the importance of quality. That moment became the foundation of CbyC: a commitment to creating sustainable, well-crafted jewelry.

CbyC stands for "Created by Cecilia" and was founded in Stockholm the same year. Today, I run the company alongside my daughter Julia. Since joining in 2019, Julia has brought new energy and a shared passion for design. Working together as mother and daughter has its challenges, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. We complement each other in a way only family can, and our vision for CbyC is the same: to create jewelry that is made to last and loved every day. It’s a privilege to share this journey with her.

Every piece of jewelry at CbyC is handmade with care, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern materials. This approach results in timeless, versatile designs that reflect both quality and individuality. Crafted using the same meticulous techniques as fine jewelry but with materials that make them accessible, our pieces are made to be worn every day and cherished for years to come.

We believe in jewelry that tells a story and complements every moment, whether it’s a subtle ring or a statement necklace. Most of our designs are crafted from 100% recycled materials, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and creating pieces you can feel good about wearing.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of CbyC Jewelry. We work closely with our primary supplier, who shares our dedication to ethical practices, sustainability, and quality.

Our supplier is a certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), adhering to stringent standards for sustainable production. They also uphold transparency and fair labor conditions through SMETA, Sedex, and amfori BSCI memberships. To ensure consistent quality, they maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification and use Green Energy in their production, supporting a more sustainable future.

In addition to creating sustainable jewelry, we are committed to making a positive impact through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. One project close to our hearts is our collaboration with War Child, an organization dedicated to supporting children in war-affected areas. As part of this partnership, we’ve created a special bracelet that combines our craftsmanship with a meaningful purpose. A portion of the proceeds from this bracelet goes directly to War Child’s efforts, allowing us to contribute to a brighter future for vulnerable children.
